Storytelling with a Twist! (May 2015)
Join us for an exciting workshop that includes one of the most popular games from our Summer 2014 camp!
Participants will explore different story telling techniques in an improvisational setting that encourages collaboration and teamwork. We will pick a storyline and as the story develops, they will express their ideas in spoken form through an extremely fun and entertaining game!
Participants will learn to generate original ideas while thinking on their feet, sequence these ideas into a story, and increase their general knowledge and vocabulary, all while developing public speaking skills. Each session will have a maximum of 6 participants to allow for continuous involvement and close interaction that will provide the opportunity to learn and develop skills.

Mon, Aug 4, 2014 9:00am – Fri, Aug 8, 2014 3:00pm
18001 NE 76th Street, Suite 100 Redmond, WA USA
This camp will focus on developing the skills of Associative Reasoning, Deductive Thinking, Critical Questioning, Visual Perception & Memory, Critical Writing, Storytelling, Public Speaking, and Vocabulary & Reading Improvisation. The camp will consist of group based games and activities. The content will be age appropriate for students in 4th-8th grade, but the kids will not be grouped by age. We will strike a healthy balance that will help all kids learn multiple skills interacting with each other. I have found this approach to be quite effective and successful while coaching Destination Imagination for many years.
The class will run from 9 am – 1 pm. This is 4 hours a day for 5 days the week of Aug 4th-8th for a total of 20 hours. The class will be offered for a special introductory price of $75 per child. This will cover the cost of all materials and content that will be purchased for the class. All proceeds will go to the non-profit organization.
